António Vilanova, R&D Renewable Fuels at Capwatt, is the author of a scientific article in one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world.

Today the scientific article “The route for commercial photoelectrochemical water splitting: review of large-area devices and key upscaling challenges" was published in the journal Chemical Society Reviews, one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world, whose first author is António Vilanova. This article describes green hydrogen production technology based on photoelectrochemical technology, which combines the advantages of photovoltaic panels and electrolyzers in a single device, being considered one of the most promising ways to achieve sustainable and decarbonized hydrogen production. Furthermore, the main challenges are addressed for this technology to become commercially viable in the near future.
